Etsy Treasury : Citrus Fusion

I am suppose to be packing for a girls weekend away to Tasmania. But instead I have spent the morning procrastinating. Does someone want to pack my bag for me? It should be easy with carry on luggage but it totally isn't!  It's so hard trying to only bring a few things that can do everything. What if its hot? What if its cold? What if I go out? Do I need a hair dryer? What if I fall in a river and need a change of jeans (this has happened to me).

So I'm procrastinating by writing my blog and by making a Treasury on Etsy this morning. Citrus Fusion "Oranges and lemons, limes and watermelons. Zesty colours that POP!" It is a KAPOW of colour madness. I have gone a little colour crazy at the moment, I can't get enough of it! I haven't done a Treasury in years. I found out you don't have to wait for a free spot to make a Treasury anymore. This is awesome news - so good in fact that I am going to make another one next time I need to procrastinate :D

Anyway, I think it is a bright and happy way to end the week. I hope you all like it and have a fabulous weekend!!
See you all when I get back :D

Rag Doll

When my good friend Bee over at Honey Jumble had her baby Elora, I decided to make her a rag doll. Once again I am not good with patterns and I couldn't even find a pattern - so I just winged it and made my own up! I was quite happy with the result. Not perfect, the stitching was a little dodgy but overall I think she is quite sweet. What do you think?

Patchwork Quilt & Pillow

Here is a sneak-peek into some of the little projects I have been working on for the baby's room. I had trouble finding a quilt I liked at the shops and in the end thought stuff it I will make my own. I wanted the nursery to be unique, pink but not too pink and a little bit vintage inspired. I am no expert when it comes to sewing things and I have trouble following patterns, so I usually just make up my own along the way. But I found this blog Diary of a Quilter very handy with the quilt and Cluck Cluck Sew was the inspiration for my pillow. Sewing can be quite addictive. Give it a go!! The cute Scrapbook Girl Rattle Toy is by Mamas & Papas - Daddy-to-be found it.

PortabelloPixie Pattern

Ok, the sewing machine needs to be set up soon. I have purchased ANOTHER Portabellopixie sewing pattern by Sandi Henderson - I just couldn't resist! Portabellopixie - 'Gracie' comes with 4 garment patterns and a lovely, coloured instruction manual.

Moving House

I have been a little busy moving the last few days and unfortunately haven't had a chance to post anything :( What a mammoth task it has been! Here I am sitting in my new studio which is looking lovely minus all the towering boxes! I will have to post a pic once it's all cleaned up and looking spiffy.
Anyway, with not a lot of time on hand I thought I would post a couple of little experimental pieces I did a couple of months back. It's fluorescent acrylics on calico and finished with a little embroidery thread.

Mmmm....pie

Today is day one. Yes, I have decided to stick my finger in the global design pie. I have had so much joy and inspiration from the many blogs out there, why not join the fun and take you on a blogging journey of what creatively inspires me!
As there is so much to share, I might just start with a little purchase I made today. I have had my eye on this gorgeous Portabellopixie sewing pattern by  Sandi Henderson for a while and now it's mine. You can visit her lovely website which also includes fabrics, free projects and a sewing school here.
